The National Event Manager designs and executes an efficient national event programme on a highly professional level. He/she is one of the most important drivers of innovation and creativity in events and athletes’ projects.
National Events Manager Internship 2020/2021
Innovation is priority, followed by excellent and efficient execution. In addition, he/she leverages global/international Red Bull content in sport scenes and supports interesting 3rd party projects with an approach aligned with Red Bull.

ROLES:
Create National Event Programmes
- Start/improve an innovative and outstanding national event programme by inventing and executing new events and athlete projects.
Event Organisation
- Organise Red Bull events/projects of all scales with strong focus on participants, spectators and media.
- Assure top quality and efficiency. Brief and supervise suitable partners (freelancer/event agency/Field Marketing Manager or Student Brand Manager) to follow Red Bull principles and needs and objectives from communications, legal, finance and sales.
- Budget and brand appearance responsibility for all national event activities according to international benchmarks and guidelines.
- Assure external partner contribution for defined projects assuring a high level of efficiency.
Communication
- Communicate information via the Red Bull InfoNet for all event related topics (keep updated event calendars, fact sheets, news-postings, etc.)
- Design and contribute unique stories, interesting topics, new formats and top media content for Red Bull Media House.
- Set up a strong network to establish Red Bull as functional beverage and innovative brand with athletes, opinion leaders, sport industries, agencies, media, federations, authorities, etc.
Improve Efficiency
- Organisation of reliable event tools and materials. Improve of storage and logistics.
- Organisation of an efficient event vehicle programme. Select a suitable car-model. Select and supervise a suitable event vehicle driver. Design and supervise the programme in regards to all legal and financial boundaries.
HOW TO APPLY
Areas of Knowledge and expertise
- Strong experience in leading and organizing all aspects of event management (operations, logistics, permissions etc) preferably in the sports industry
- Experience in creating and managing of events from ideation phase to execution.
- Strong technical understating and experience in microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point, SAP etc.)
- Have relationships with relevant South African event industry stakeholders (City authorities, event suppliers, sponsors, media etc)
- Fit for outdoor work, willingness to travel and work long hours and weekends during events
- Ability to design and organise events and projects of all scales (budgets from R50k – R10m). Ability to lead project teams and follow a 360 degree marketing and organisational approach.

- Studies in sports, marketing, business management or media and/or work experience in sports industry, events or marketing agency, sport institution, federation.
- Fluency in English (verbal & written)
- Travel up to: 25%
