College Of Science , Arts And Education Admission Requirement

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The normal entry requirements of a degree at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology apply to the LLB Program since it is affiliated to the school. Three main streams of admissions are instituted in the faculty as follows:

• Category A: 4 Year (Regular) LLB Program

Category A candidates are admitted as holders of:

(i) WASSCE/ SSSCE with credits in three core subjects (English, Mathematics and Integrated Science) and three WASSCE/ SSSCE elective subjects in General Arts or Science or Business with Business Management, Economics, Accounting, Costing and Business Mathematics with aggregate 24 or better.

(ii) GCE Advance Level with Credits in at least five ‘O’ Levels subject, including English Language and Mathematics together with three ‘A’ Levels or equivalent in Arts or Science Subjects and

(iii) Matured candidates who must be 25 years of age or above at the time of submitting the application with at least five passes at the ‘O’ Levels, including English Language and Mathematics or WASSCE/SSSCE with passes in the three core subjects (English, Mathematics and Integrated Science) and three WASSCE/SSSCE elective subjects in General Arts or Business. The candidate must pass entrance examination and interview.

• Category B: 3 Year (Regular LLB Program

Category B candidates are admitted as holders of first degree in a discipline other than law. Candidates in this category will be required to do a three-year full-time LLB program.

• Category C: 3-Year (Evening) LLB Program

Category C candidates are also admitted as first degree holders in a Non-Law subject. Candidates in this category will be required to do a 3-year part-time LLB program.

Candidates in category A (iii), B, C who are short-listed shall take a competitive examination and pass an interview.

• Foreign Students

Foreign Students may be admitted into the Bachelor of Law (LLB) program if they possess qualifications equivalent to those listed above and must show evidence of proficiency in English language, credible documents from any accredited institution (e.g. institute of Languages, University of Ghana Language Center or TOEL).
