To be the frontier for proving cutting–edge technological solutions to ICT problems through well-groomed and result-oriented graduates.

OBJECTIVES

To provide students with high quality programmes that confer requisite skills for job placement or entrance into graduate degree programmes. To train students to analyse, design, implement and test object-oriented software solutions to “real world” problems.

To enable students appreciate the value of efficient designing created to meet clearly- stated requirements. To prepare students to blend their computer abilities to problem-solving skills specific to other domains.

To develop in students capabilities to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.

ACTIVITIES

In order to enhance the Internationalization Agenda of the College, the School of Computer Science was involved  in practical programmes  such  a s Workshop ,  Conferences ,  Industrial Trips, Admission  Drive ,  Research and Innovation. Seminars were organised for students and faculty on various themes. Typical among which were “Securing Data in the 21st Century” and Cyber Security in the 21st century. Students also embarked on Industrial Attachment and other forms on Internship as part of the activities to bridge the gap between industry and academia.

HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT

To promote Staff Development in the School, staffing vacancies have been filled and offices created for Lecturers. Administrative staff have also had their positions regularised for smooth operations. Seven lecturers are currently pursuing PhD programmes in various fields of study.

Entry Requirements

Category 1
1. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE), West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE)
The general requirements for admission of WASSCE, SSSCE and GBCE candidates to the B.Sc. (Accounting) programme are three (3) credit passes in three core subjects and three (3) credit passes in three relevant elective subjects.
i. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) Candidates: Credit
Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

ii. West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Candidates: Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
iii. General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) Candidates: Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

Category 2
General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Candidates
Passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better). Also, the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject.
