Minimum Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission in the following Degree Programmes at the Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences. Please note that applicants must have passed at least 5 ‘O’ level subjects or equivalent including English Language at grade C or better in addition to the specified ‘A’ level subjects or diplomas.

DEGREE PROGRAMMES	ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
APRIL INTAKE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING – (BEng Hons Degree) BEng Chemical and Processing Honours Degree (5 years) BEng Mining and Mineral Processing Honours Degree (5 years) BEng Metallurgy Honours Degree (5 years) FACULTY OF AGRIBUSINESS AND COMMERCE BSc Agricultural Economics and Development Honours Degree (4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level in Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics, and any other Science subject. Diploma holders in Chemistry and / or related fields will be considered. Passes at ‘A’ level in Physics and Mathematics and any other Science subject. Diploma holders in mining engineering, metallurgy, geology, and minig surveying will be considered. Passes at ‘A’ level in Chemistry and Mathematics and any other Science subject or Diploma in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgical Assaying and Mine Surveying. Any 2 ‘A’ levels in Commercials / Sciences with Agriculture being an added advantage or a Diploma/Higher National Diploma in Agriculture including ‘O’ Level Mathematics
FEBRUARY INTAKE FACULTY OF APPLIED SCIENCES AND  TECHNOLOGY (BSc HONS DEGREE) BSc Information Systems Honours Degree (4 years) BSc Applied Statistics Honours Degree (4 years) BSc Computer Science Honours Degree (4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level in at least two of the following subjects: Management of Business, Economics and Mathematics / equivalent, or at least National Diploma / Professional Qualification in Computer Science/Information Systems Passes at ‘A’ level in Mathematics, and any Sciences or Commercials. Passes at ‘A’ Level in Mathematics, Physics, and any other Sciences.
FEBRUARY INTAKE FACULTY OF AGRIBUSINESS AND COMMERCE BCom Tourism and Hospitality Management Honours Degree (4 years) BCom Accounting Honours Degree (4 years ) BCom Business Management Honours Degree (4 years) BSc Forest Resources Management and Applied Restoration Honours Degree  (4 years)	Any 2 ‘A’ levels with commercials being an added advantage or at least National Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management / Tourism Management /Marketing Management, Retail Management, Institute of Administration and Commerce (IAC) Passes at ‘A’ level in Accounting and any of the following ‘A’ level subjects; Mathematics, Economics, Management of Business, Computing (Computer Science) Passes at ‘A’ level in Management of Business and any subjects in Commercials, Sciences or Arts including ‘O’ Level Mathematics Passes at “A” level in Biology and any one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Agricultural Science, Physics, Chemistry or Geography.
FEBRUARY  INTAKE FACULTY OF APPLIED SOCIAL SCIENCES BSc Human Resource Management Honours Degree (4 years) BSc Psychology Honours Degree (4 years)	Passes at ‘A’ level in Management of Business, plus any Humanities /Arts Humanities/Arts + ‘O’ Level Biology & Mathematics

Entry requirements for a Postgraduate degree Programme

A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited University in a subject or subjects relevant to the course applied for.

Entry requirements for a Masters degree Programme

• An applicant must have passed English Language at Ordinary Level or approved equivalent.
• Normally, an applicant must have obtained an appropriate Honours Degree in the Upper Second or higher Division.
• An applicant who has obtained an appropriate Honours Degree in the Lower Second Division may be considered provided that he/she has achieved First or Upper Second Class performance in their intended field of study.

Entry requirements for a PhD degree Programme

• An applicant must have obtained an appropriate Masters Degree or have satisfied the requirements for transfer of registration from the MPhil Degree to the DPhil degree.
