According to the police, all applicants must be Ghanaians not less than 18 years and not more than 25 years of age by April 1, 2022, must be at least 5 feet 8 inches [173cm] tall for males and 5 feet 4 inches [163] for females, must be physically fit and must be of good character, without any criminal record.

The Police Service is a single cohesive unit, organized on national basis with a unified command under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police [IGP], who, subject to any direction/directives from the Police Council, is responsible for exercising general day-to-day supervision and control over the Administration and Operation of the Police Service.

- Be ready to undergo basic Police training and other forms of training
