Huruma Institute of Health and Allied Sciences Admission 2020 – 2021
Huruma health training Institute was established March, 1981 under Our Sister of Our Kilimanjaro within the premises Huruma Hospital to train pre-service nursing students. It started the same time as the hospital.
Since its inception, the school has been enrolling students mostly from within and few from outside Tanzania.
The school has been running a four-year Diploma course in nursing since its establishment. Following the current reforms in health training, this program is now a three-year nursing program offering an Ordinary Diploma at National Technical Award (NTA) Level 6.
It is also registered by National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) which is registering body for all technical institution with registration number REG/HAS/059
Huruma Institute of Health and Allied Sciences offered courses and programs
The goals of these programs are to equip the students with competence based skills, i.e appropriate knowledge attitude and professional skills/competencies in order to provide comprehensive and effective quality health services that meet the need of individuals, family and community at large. Courses offered include the following:
- Certificate in clinical medicine (two years program)
- Certificate in nursing (two years program)
- Diploma in clinical medicine (3 years program)
- Diploma in nursing (3 years program)
- Diploma in nursing upgrading (1 year program)
