Inscape Design College Admission Points Score For 2022/2023

To calculate your Inscape Design College APS, you will need to add your six best subject percentages.  Please note that this excludes Life Orientation.

Applicants will need to meet the minimum APS in order to be considered for a specific programme.  Generally, you get points for each matric subject you write an exam in.  The points you get for each course will depend on the percentage you score in that particular subject.

The APS is the total points you receive from each course. Results below 40% for any subject will not be counted in the APS.

Entry Requirements

SOUTH AFRICA

• National Senior Certificate with admission to a Bachelor’s Degree, or verification Certificate indicating an equivalent. Competent in English at NQF level 4. Mathematics preferred.

SPECIAL ADMISSIONS

• We offer mature age exemption to Degrees, Diplomas and Higher Certificates as per USAF requirements. Inscape will consider Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) based on informal or non-formal learning for admission to this course.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

• For admissions to Bachelor’s Degree: Higher Education South Africa (USAF) complete or conditional exemption certificate. A study permit in the name of Inscape Education Group is valid for the duration of the chosen course.

DIPLOMAS

SOUTH AFRICA:

• National Senior Certificate with admission to diploma or SAQA verification, with Art or Design or Higher Certificate in related field. Competent in English at NQF level 4.

HIGHER CERTIFICATES

SOUTH AFRICA

• National Senior Certificate with admission to a Higher Certificate, Competent in English at NQF level 4.
• Note: For the Higher Certificate in Architectural Technology: students should consult with the relevant tertiary institution for further requirements. Math’s is usually a prerequisite for entry into an Architectural
• Degree on completion of the Higher Certificate.

SPECIAL ADMISSIONS:

• Inscape Education Group will consider Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) based on informal or non-formal learning for admission to this course.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:

• For admission to Higher Certificate: South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) evaluation of
• National Senior Certificate NQF4 equivalence.

HONOURS

• An NQF level 7 qualification in an appropriate design discipline with an average of 60% for the final year of study.
• A letter of motivation where you outline your initial proposal and intention for a final project, for instance, exploring how illustration can be used in health awareness poster design, or how decolonization has influenced fashion design, of proximately 1500 words.
• Inscape subscribes to the National Policy for the Implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) developed by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) in co-operation with the policies of RPL, CAT, and Assessment in Higher Education developed by the Council on Higher Education (CHE). RPL permits you to gain access to formal programs offered by INSCAPE based on the level and extent of your knowledge. Your prior learning will be measured against our specified and prescribed learning outcomes.
