Kairuki School of Nursing Admission 2020 – 2021

Kairuki School of Nursing (KSN) formally known as Mikocheni School of Nursing, is affiliated to the Faculty of Nursing of Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU) and Kairuki Hospital. The School is fully registered by the National Council of Technical Education (NACTE). Kairuki Hospital serves as the teaching hospital for Kairuki School of Nursing.

Practical training is also carried out at Amana Hospital, Mwananyamala Hospital, and Magomeni RCH clinic and Muhimbili National Hospital, through field studies to give students required knowledge, exposure  and experience in their training.

Mission: To train and produce graduates of Certificate and Diploma in Nursing, equipped with quality education, capable to compete in the labor market.

Location: KSN is located at 70 Chwaku Street- Mikocheni area, Kinondoni district, 7km from Dar es Salaam City Centre. The school is in the same building with Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU) and Kairuki Hospital (KH).

Entry requirements:

1. Direct entry

Holders of Advanced Certificate in Secondary Education (ACSEE) or its equivalent with 3 principal passes in chemistry, biology and either physics/ mathematics/nutrition with a minimum of 6 points. To qualify for admission, one must have at least C grade in chemistry, and at least D grade in biology and E grade in physics /mathematics/ nutrition.

2. Equivalent qualifications

Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least 5 passes including 2 credit passes in chemistry and biology and a D Grade in physics PLUS Diploma in Nursing with an average of B+ or GPA of 3.5.

Holders of BSc degree (Lower second or above) majoring in physics/mathematics, chemistry, biology/zoology.
