Karatu Health Training Institute Admission 2020 – 2021

The Karatu Health Training Institute was established in 2012 with the aim of Providing Health Programmes. Since its inception, the institute has been enrolling students mostly from different part of Tanzania. The School has been running a 2 years Certificate programs in Nursing and clinical Medicine during its establishment. Following the current reforms in Health Training, this program is now a three years Nursing program offering an Ordinary Diploma at National Technical Awards (NTA Level 6) and 2 year Clinical Medicine at National Technical Awards (NTA level 5). This Institute is registered by National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) which is registering body for all technical institution with registration Number REG/HAS/113. Within a learning environment, learner will acquire knowledge, Professional Competencies and attitude. The training is conducted in NTA levels semesterized modules, whereby one academic year consist of two semesters

Karatu Health Training Institute Courses Offered

The goals of these program are to equip the students with competence based skills like appropriate knowledge attitude and professional skill/ competencies in order to provide comprehensive and effective quality health services that meet the need of individuals, family and society or community at large.

Courses offered include the following.

Certificate in Clinical Medicine ( 2 years Programme)
Diploma in Nursing and Midwives ( 3 years Programme)

Admission requirement for certificate of Clinical Medicine.

Certificate of Secondary education examination (CSEE (with four (4) Passes in non- religious Subjects including “D” passes in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics/Engineering Sciences. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.

Admission requirement for Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery.

Certificate of Secondary education examination(CSEE( with four (4) Passes in non- religious Subjects including (2)credit “C” passes in any of Chemistry, Biology, and Physics/Engineering Sciences provided one is not less than pass “D”. A pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.
