KNUST Receives Support From KMA On January 2018

The Management of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) paid a courtesy call on the management of the University on January, 2018. The purpose of the visit was to present a cheque of Sixty-Six Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis funded by National Investment Bank to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST) to support the beautification of the City.
Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of KMA presented the cheque to Prof. Kwasi Obiri Danso, the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST on behalf KMA. The Metropolitan CEO intimated that the gesture is in furtherance of a proposal made by KNUST regarding the beautification of the city of Kumasi.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Obiri Danso, in a short statement mentioned that the University was grateful to KMA for agreeing to partner the University to carry out the project and promised the University will make judicious use of the money to complete the project.
Prof. Ben Banfull, the Head of Department of Horticulture added that the Project which involves planting of trees, shrubs and flowering plants would start from the Odoum Roundabout up to the Asafo Interchange.  The objective of the parties in this collaboration is to bring Kumasi to its hitherto status as the Garden City.
