A. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMMES
I. BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY (B.TECH) IN APPLIED STATISTICS (FINANCIAL STATISTICS OPTION) – (2 YEARS TOP-UP PROGRAMME)
a. Applicants must have HND (First Class or Second Class Upper Division) in Statistics with a minimum of two years working experience. Applicants with Second Class Lower Division will have to attend and pass an interview.
b. Diploma qualifications from elsewhere assessed to be equivalent to HND may be similarly considered.
II. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE
a. Applicants with Higher National Diploma (HND) in the following areas with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division are eligible to apply:

e. Also, applicants with Electrical Engineering Technician Part III (EET III) may also apply
III. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Applicants with Higher National Diploma (HND) in the following areas with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division are eligible to apply:
a) HND Information Technology
b) HND Computerized Accounting/Marketing/Statistics/Secretaryship
c) HND Computer Science
d) HND Computer Network Management
e) Other related qualification in Computer Science/Engineering
B. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
1. HND STATISTICS
a. SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
· SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Physics or Elective Mathematics.
· WASSCE Applicants
Passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Physics or Elective Mathematics. The aggregate of the six (6) subjects must not exceed 24 for SSSCE and 39 for WASSCE
b. GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL/ABCE Applicants
At least five (5) GBCE /GCE‘O’-Level credit passes or five (5) GBCE passes including English Language, Mathematics and additional Mathematics or Physics plus a minimum of two (2) GCE ‘A’ level/ABCE passes excluding General Paper.
c. TEACHER’S CERTIFICATE.
Applicant must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus three (3) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes which must include English Language, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.
d. ABCE (RSA III) Applicants
Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE)/(RSA III) plus GBCE/RSA II or 5 GCE O’ Level credit including English, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.
e. DBS Statistics Applicants
Four (4) DBS (Statistics option) passes (including Statistics) plus passes in Mathematics, English and Science or Social Studies/ Life Skills at GCE O’ Level, SSSCE or WASSCE.
f. ISSER Certificate
ISSER Certificate in Statistics plus passes in Mathematics, English Language and Science at GCE O’ Level, SSSCE/WASSCE
g. Mature Applicants
· Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is twenty-five (25) years old at the time of application.
· Must pass a written test in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge to be conducted by the Koforidua Technical University.
II. HND COMPUTER SCIENCE
a. SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
· SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Physics or Elective Mathematics.
· WASSCE Applicants

III. HND COMPUTER NETWORKING MANAGEMENT

· SSSCE Applicants: Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess a minimum of D in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
· WASSCE Applicants: Passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
b. GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL/ABCE Applicants
Five (5) GBCE /GCE‘O’-Level credit passes (including English Language and Mathematics) plus at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ level/ABCE passes excluding General Paper.
c. Applicants from Technical Schools (Certificate II Applicants)
Applicants must have passes in three (3) SSSCE/WASSCE subjects including English Language and Mathematics and Integrated Science plus three (3) relevant elective subjects/trade courses.
d. DBS Applicants
Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English and Mathematics plus at least three (3) passes in relevant DBS subjects.
e. Teacher’s Certificate
Applicant must have Three- Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus three (3) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes in relevant elective subjects.
f. Mature Applicants
Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is five (5) years old at the time of application.
Must pass a written test in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge to be conducted by the Koforidua Technical University.
IV. HND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT
a. SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects from:
Home Economics: Foods & Nutrition, Economics, Management in Living, General Knowledge in Art or French
General Arts: Geography, French, and Economics Business: Accounting, Costing Business Management and Business Mathematics
Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics
· WASSCE Applicants
Passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects from:

b. GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL/ABCE/RSA/ A Level Applicants
At least five (5) GBCE /GCE‘O’-Level credit passes or five (5) GBCE passes including English Language, Mathematics plus a minimum of two (2) GCE ‘A’ level/ABCE passes excluding General Paper.
c. Teacher’s Certificate.
Applicant must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus three (3) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes which must include English Language and Mathematics.
d. Other Qualifications
Cookery 812/1 holders with aggregate 25 or 26 (including English and Mathematics) at the SSSCE/WASSCE or O’ Levels with at least 1 year industrial experience may be considered.
e. Professionals with Cookery 812/2 (706/2) and Pre-HND Holders
Applicants with Cookery 812/2 Certificate must have at least passes in English, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies at the SSSCE/WASSCE or GCE O’ Levels
Cookery 812/2 plus three passes in English, Mathematics and Integrated Science at the Pre-HND level.
f. Mature Applicants
· Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is twenty-five (25) years old at the time of application.
· Must pass a written test in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge to be conducted by Koforidua Technical University.
V. HND FOOD TECHNOLOGY
· SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
· SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess a minimum of D in any three (3) of the following: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science.
· WASSCE Applicants:
Passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess a minimum of D in any three (3) of the following: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science.
The aggregate of the six (6) subjects must not exceed 24 for SSSCE and 39 for WASSCE
· Pre-HND Applicants
· Background in Laboratory Technician certificate plus at least passes in each of the three subjects namely; NABPTEX English language, Mathematics and Science.
· Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ Applicants
· Four-year Certificate ‘A’ or three-year Post-Secondary Certificate and Four GCE ‘O’ credit passes including English language, Mathematics and any science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science etc.)
OR
· Holders of Diploma in Education certificate
· Laboratory Technician Certificate:
Applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience and
Must pass a written examination in English Language, Mathematics and General knowledge conducted by Koforidua Technical University.
· Mature Student
· Applicants must have 5 GCE ‘O’ Level/SSSCE/WASSCE passes in relevant subjects including English, Mathematics, Integrated Science OR
VI. HND POSTHARVEST TECHNOLOGY
a. SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
· SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and must possess a minimum of D in any three (3) of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, or alternatively must possess a minimum of D in General Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics.
· WASSCE Applicants:
Passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science; and must possess a minimum of D in any three (3) of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics, or alternatively must possess a minimum of D in General Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics.
The aggregate of the six (6) subjects must not exceed 24 for SSSCE and 39 for WASSCE
b. Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ Applicants
· Four-year Certificate ‘A’ or three-year Post-Secondary Certificate and Four GCE ‘O’ credit passes including English language, Mathematics and any science subject (Physics, chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science etc.)
c. Diploma in General Agriculture
Holders of Diploma in General Agriculture may apply for consideration OR
d. HND graduates from Science, Engineering and Computer Science programmes who may want to switch from their programmes

VII. HND FASHION DESIGN AND TEXTILES
a. SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
· SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Clothing & Textiles, General Knowledge in Art (GKA), Textiles, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Technical Drawing, Management in Living, French, Economics, Geography, Accounting, Physics, Biology, Elective Mathematics, Literature and all related subjects.
· WASSCE Applicants
Passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Clothing & Textiles, General Knowledge in Art (GKA), Textiles, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Technical Drawing, Management in Living, French, Economics, Geography, Accounting, Physics, Biology, Elective Mathematics, Literature and all related subjects. The aggregate of the six (6) subjects must not exceed 24 for SSSCE and 39 for WASSCE
b. GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL/ABCE Applicants

· Advanced Fashion Certificate from Technical Examinations Unit
· Certificate II Fashion Certificate with three (3) passes in Core Subjects
d. Teacher’s Certificate.
Applicant must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus three (3) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes which must include English Language, Mathematics and Science OR One (1) year Diploma in Education
e. Mature Applicants

C. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-HND PROGRAMMES
a. Fashion Design and Textiles (Certificate II ) Programme – 2 years
· Passes in SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/GCE O’ Level OR
· NVTI Fashion Certificate Grade I OR Grade II or its equivalent OR
· JHS graduates with knowledge and skills in Dressmaking
b. Advanced Fashion Design and Textiles Programme – 2 years
· Holders of City and Guilds Certificate In Fashion and Design (Dressmaking and Textiles) OR
· Intermediate Dressmaking/Fashion Certificate plus at least ONE (1) year relevant practical experience OR
· Four (4) passes in SSSCE/WASSCE subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and any other Elective subjects plus basic knowledge and skills in Dressmaking OR
· Four (4) passes in GCE O’ Level including English Language, Mathematics, plus knowledge in Dressmaking
c. Certificate II in Fashion Design and Textiles:-2-Years
· Passes in SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/’O’ Level subjects.
· N.V.T.I Fashion Certificate Grade I or Grade II or equivalent.
· JHS Graduates with knowledge and skills in Dressmaking
d. Catering Certificate II (formerly Cookery 812/1)- 2years
· Passes in relevant SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/ GCE O-Level subjects.
· NVTI Grade II or JHS Certificate with working experience.
e. COOKERY 812/2
· Holders of Cookery 812/1
f. CISCO
· Passes in English and Mathematics
· Passes in WAEC,ABCE (IT), GBCE (IT)
· Basic knowledge in computer application
· Any higher qualification(s) than above
*The Technical Examinations Unit (TEU) has changed the titles of the Intermediate Fashion Design & Textiles and Cookery 812/1 to Certificate II in Fashion Design and Textiles and Catering Certificate II respectively and students who will be successful in all the courses at their final examination shall qualify for direct admission into relevant HND programmes. The duration is (2) years.
4. FACULTY OF BUILT AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
A. ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME
(I) BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY IN BUILDING TECHNOLOGY – (2 YEARS TOP-UP PROGRAMME)
a. HND graduates with a minimum of Second (2nd) Class Lower Division in Building Technology or Civil Engineering. Or
b. HND Graduates with passes lower than the minimum Second (2nd) Class Lower Division requirement indicated above must pass a selection interview to be conducted by the University. Or
c. Holders of Construction Technician Part III. Or
d. Holders of Construction Technician Part II (old scheme)
e. Holders of Construction Technician Part II (new) plus 5 years working experience. Applicants must pass an entrance examinations conducted by Koforidua Technical University.
B. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
I) HND Building Technology
a. SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
· SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) elective subjects which must include Elective Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry Economics/Geography.
· WASSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) elective subjects which must include Elective Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry, Economics/Geography. The aggregate of the six (6) subjects must not exceed 24 for SSSCE and 39 for WASSCE
b. GCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL Applicants
Applicants must have at least five (5) GCE‘O’-Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) plus two (2) GCE A’ Level passes in any of the following subjects: Elective Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Economics
a. Pre-HND and Construction Technician Course (CTC) Applicants
· Pre-HND students with Construction background (i.e. a minimum of Craft Course) plus at least a pass mark in each of the three (3) subjects namely NABPTEX English Language, Mathematics and Science level with any of the following backgrounds EET, CTC, MET, or MVT
b. Construction Technician Certificate (CTC) Part I)
Holders of Construction Technician Certificate Part I with passes in GCE O’/SSSCE/WASSCE English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science`
c. Construction Technician Certificate (CTC) Part I
Holders of Construction Technician (CTC) Part I with 3 years working experience. Applicants must pass an entrance examination conducted by Koforidua Technical University.
d. Construction Technician Certificate (CTC) Part II
Holders of Construction Technician Certificate Part II with either a fail in Site Surveying but pass in Measurement or vice versa may apply for consideration.
e. Teacher’s Certificate.
· Applicant must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus four (4) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes which must include English Language, Mathematics and Technical Drawing plus any Science subject
Or Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English, Mathematics with any of the following; Elective Mathematics, Physics, Technical Drawing, Chemistry, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics and Basic Electronics

· Technical Construction option Subjects: Craft (B/C, C/J, P/D, and Plumbing) and Advanced (B/C, C/J, P/D, and Plumbing.)
· Passes in General Course in Construction (GCC)
b. CTC II/MET II/MVT II/ EET II
· Applicants should be holders of CTC I/MET I/MVT I/EET I
