A) ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMMES
I) BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY IN AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING – (2 YEARS TOP-UP PROGRAMME)
a. HND Automotive Engineering, HND Mechanical Engineering (Plant and Production Options) with at least Second (2nd) Class Lower Division Or
b. KNUST Diploma plus a minimum of one (1) year post-Diploma relevant industrial experience in an automobile or related field.
c. City and Guilds of London Institute (Part III)
d. Motor Vehicle Technician Part III (MVT III)
II. BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY (B.TECH.) IN CIVIL ENGINEERING –(2 YEARS TOP-UP PROGRAMME)
a. HND graduates with a minimum of Second (2nd) Class Lower Division in Civil Engineering or Building Technology. Or
b. HND Graduates with passes lower than the minimum Second (2nd) Class Lower Division requirement indicated above must pass a selection interview to be conducted by the University. Or
c. Holders of Construction Technician Part III. Or
d. Holders of Construction Technician Part II (old scheme)
III BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY IN RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS ENGINEERING – (2 YEARS TOP-UP PROGRAMME)
a. Entry is limited to holders of at least Second (2nd) Class Lower Certificate in Higher National Diploma (HND) in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering or HND Mechanical Engineering (Production and Plant options) Or
b. HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Chemical Engineering. Equivalent entry requirements are the KNUST Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Physics. In addition, applicants must have at least one (1) year relevant industrial experience in an energy related field.
IV. BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY IN TELECOM ENGINEERING – (2 YEARS TOP-UP PROGRAMME)
a. Graduates of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Computer Science and students transferring from similar programmes ran at other accredited/recognized institutions with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division plus at least one (1) year working/industrial experience. HND Computer Science certificate holders without appropriate course content in Electrical/Electronics technology in their programme will be required to do the requisite bridging courses. Or
b. Applicants with Diploma in Electrical and Electronic related courses from recognized institutions with a minimum of one (1) year industrial working experience. Or
c. Foreign students with qualifications equivalent to Ghana HND Electrical/Electronics Engineering certificate. Or
d. Holders of Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technician Part III
V. BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING –(2 YEARS TOP-UP PROGRAMME)
a. HND Mechanical Engineering (Plant or Production Options) with at least Second (2nd) Class Lower Division plus a minimum of One (1) year post-HND relevant industrial experience in a Mechanical or related field. Or

A. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
I. HND AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING
a. SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
· SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Physics and Elective Mathematics or Technical Drawing and Chemistry, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics and Basic Electronics.
· WASSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Physics, and Elective Mathematics or Technical Drawing and Chemistry, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics and Basic Electronics. The aggregate of the six (6) subjects must not exceed 24 for SSSCE and 39 for WASSCE
b. GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL/ABCE Applicants
At least five (5) GBCE /GCE‘O’-Level credit passes or five (5) GBCE passes including English Language, Mathematics and Technical Drawing and any Science subject, plus a minimum of two (2) GCE ‘A’ level/ABCE passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering Science excluding General Paper.
c. Pre-HND and MVT & MET Applicants
Pre-HND Applicants with at least passes in each of the these three (3) subjects namely English, Language, Mathematics, and Science plus passes in all subjects at Intermediate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, (MVM) Motor Vehicle Technician (MVT) or Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET) levels or
d. MVT I, MET I Applicants
MVT I, MET I plus passes in SSCE/WASSCE/GCE O’ Level English Language, Mathematics and Science
I. Applicants from Technical Institutions
Passes in Mathematics, English Language and Integrated Science as well as passes in Elective courses (Auto Mechanic, Metal Work).
e. Ordinary Technician Diploma
OTD in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
f. Motor Vehicle Technician
(MVT) or Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET) Part II
g. Teacher’s Certificate.
· Applicant must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus four (4) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes which must include English Language, Mathematics and Technical Drawing plus any Science subject,
Or
· Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English and Mathematics with any of the following Elective Mathematics, Physics, Technical Drawing, Chemistry, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics and Basic Electronics
· Holder of Diploma in Education Certificates
h. Mature Applicants
· Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is twenty-five (25) years old at the time of application.
· Must pass a written test in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge to be conducted by Koforidua Technical University.
II. HND CIVIL ENGINEERING
a. SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
· SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Elective Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Economics/ Geography.
· WASSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Elective Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Economics/ Geography.
The aggregate of the six (6) subjects must not exceed 24 for SSSCE and 39 for WASSCE
b. GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL Applicants
At least five (5) GBCE /GCE‘O’-Level credit passes or five (5) GBCE passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus a minimum of two (2) GCE ‘A’ level
passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry excluding General Paper.
c. Pre-HND and Construction Technician Applicants
· Pre-HND applicants with Construction background (i.e. a minimum of craft course plus at least a pass mark in each of the three (3) subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Science.
· Construction Technician Certificate (CTC) Part I with passes in GCE O’ level/SSSCE/WASSCE English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science.
· Construction Technician Certificate (CTC) Parts II with either fail in Site Surveying but pass in Measurement or vice versa may apply for consideration.
d. Teacher’s Certificate.
· Applicant must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus four (4) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes which must include English Language, Mathematics and Technical Drawing plus any Science subject
Or· Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English and Mathematics with any of the following Elective Mathematics, Physics, Technical Drawing, Chemistry, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics and Basic Electronics
· Holder of Diploma in Education Certificates
e. Mature Applicants
· Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is twenty-five (25) years old at the time of application.

III. HND ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
a. SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants
· SSSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Elective Mathematics, Physics, Applied Electricity/Electronics, Engineering Science, Technical Drawing, Chemistry or Biology, Metal Work.
· WASSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Elective Mathematics, Physics, Applied Electricity/Electronics, Engineering Science, Technical Drawing, Chemistry or Biology, Metal Work.
The aggregate of the six (6) subjects must not exceed 24 for SSSCE and 39 for WASSCE
b. GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL Applicants
Applicants must have at least five (5) GBCE /GCE‘O’-Level credit passes or five (5) GBCE passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry plus a minimum of two (2) GCE ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
c. Pre-HND and Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) Applicants
· Pre-HND applicants with background in Electrical Installation Certificate or Telecommunication plus at least passes in each of the three subjects namely NABPTEX English Language, Mathematics and Science or
· Electrical Installation Certificate or Telecommunication Technician I plus passes in GCE O’ Level/SSSCE WASSCE English, Mathematics and Integrated Science
· Applicants with EET II can also apply for consideration
d. Teacher’s Certificate.
· Applicant must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus four (4) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes which must include English Language, Mathematics and Technical Drawing plus any Science subject
Or· Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE credit passes including English and Mathematics and Technical Drawing with any of the following Elective Mathematics, Physics, Technical Drawing, Chemistry, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics and Basic Electronics

· WASSCE Applicants
Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science plus credit passes in three (3) relevant elective subjects which must include Elective Mathematics and any two (2) of the following: Physics, Technical Drawing, Chemistry, Metal Work, Auto Mechanics, and Basic Electronics.
The aggregate of the six (6) subjects must not exceed 24 for SSSCE and 39 for WASSCE
b. GBCE/ ‘O’/A’LEVEL Applicants
Applicants must have at least five (5) GBCE /GCE‘O’-Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Technical Drawing and any science subject plus a minimum of two (2) GCE ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Drawing or Ordinary Technician Diploma (OTD).
c. At least Part II or III Technicians Certificate Holders in MET or MVT applicants

· Pass at Pre-HND level with at least Intermediate or Craft Certificate in MVT or MET.
e. Teacher’s Certificate.
· Applicant must have Three-Year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four Year Certificate ‘A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus four (4) GCE O-Level or SSSCE/WASSCE passes which must include English Language, Mathematics and Technical Drawing plus any Science subject

Electrical Electrician Technician (EET); Construction Technician Certificate, (CTC); Motor Vehicle Technician (MVT); and Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET) with passes in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science
d. Pre-HND and MET & MVT Applicants
· Passes at Pre-HND level with any of the following backgrounds EET, CTC, MET, or MVT
OR· Passes at Pre-HND Level plus at least an Intermediate Or Craft Certificate in any of the following; Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Automotive Engineering OR
e. Electrical Electrician Technician (EET) Part II or Part III OR
f. Ordinary Technician Diploma (OTD) in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering

c. Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) Part I
· Five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English, Mathematics and Science and any two (2) of the following: Applied Electricity/Electronics, Physics, Mathematics
