ABIA STATE UNIVERSITY ADMISSION GUIDELINES AND FORMS

Gaining admission into an Undergraduate Programme in Absu is basically under 2 entry method which includes the UTME entry and the Direct Entry.
Prospective students of Abia State University, ABSU are to obtain the JAMB Forms, choose Covenant University and sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) of the Board as prescribed in the relevant advertisement for the 2021/2022 admission exercise. Also, applicants must complete the online Abia State University, ABSU Application Forms. Please use the Application Requirements checklist section below to prepare your application for submission.

Candidates Qualified for the Screening Exercise

• Candidates who chose Abia State University as their 1st choice, 2nd choice and those who did not choose the University at all in the UTME, but want to change on JAMB platform.
• Candidates who scored 160 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
• Candidates who possess the basic five O’level credit passes in accordance with the University’s Entry Requirements.
• Candidates with Awaiting Results can also apply, but should so indicate.

PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE

• Candidates are expected to register for the Screening Exercise online by logging into *www.abiastateuniversity.edu.ng* and making e-payment of Two thousand Naira (N2,000) only, in any of the following Banks

• Candidates should ensure that their correct details are captured during the application for the Post-UTME screening test.
• Candidates are not required to upload any photograph or biometric capture, as pictures and biometric of candidates have been supplied by JAMB.
• Candidates who do not register for the Post UTME Screening Exercise will not be considered for Admission.
• However, Foreign candidates, Inmates of Correctional Centers (Prisons), as well as, Blind and Deaf candidates are exempted from the Post UTME Screening Exercise.

SCHEDULE FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE

• The Post-UTME Screening Exercise will take place from *24th August to 7th September, 2021 online*.
• Candidates are requested to please note that the Screening Exercise is as scheduled in the Screening Exercise slip they printed out after the online registration.
• Candidates are required to stick to the Examination dates and time on the test slip printed out during the online registration, as consideration will not be given to those who fail to login and take the screening test on the scheduled date and time.
• Candidates should note that taking the test on their GSM phones or its use as a hotspot is not advisable, as incoming calls may cause serious obstruction.
• Candidates are advised to ensure that they have internet connectivity before the scheduled time of their examinations.

• It is important to note that the names of successful candidates for Admission shall be published on the same site (www.abaistateuniversity.edu.ng).

ABIA STATE UNIVERSITY APPLICATION FEE

Eligible candidates are to pay the sum of N 2000 by following the payment method as stated in the application procedure.
This fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study through ABSU, do not qualify for admission to ABSU or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available. ABSU does not accept cash at any of its offices.
The due date for the application fee is the closing date for the application period. Any application submitted without an application fee paid on time will not be processed. Please ensure that you keep a copy of your proof of payment.

Make sure that your application is complete

If your application for admission to study through ABSU is incomplete, you will have to re-apply during the next application period.

ABSU APPLICATION REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

All applicants starting a new qualification must present all the required documents, which generally consists of the following:

• UTME Result Slip (Coloured and photocopy)
• ABSU Post-UTME Acknowledgement Slip (Coloured and photocopy) JUPEB/A-LEVEL/OND/HND/BSc. RESULT SLIP for DIRECT Entry candidates
• O’Level Result Certificate (WAEC/NECO) OR an online version of the result.
• ABSU Online application form (FOR DIRECT ENTRY ONLY)
• Passport Photographs
