POSSA Donates To KNUST Faculty Library In 2018

The Executive members of Political Studies Students Association (POSSA) 2017/2018 academic year have donated Political Studies text books worth GH₵2,010 to the Faculty of Social Sciences Library in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CoHSS) of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Giving the background to the donation, William Quansah, the President of the Association stated that a survey conducted on books on Political Studies at the Faculty Library showed that they were few and outdated. This he said, prompted them to consult some lecturers to advise them on the books that would provide much knowledge to Political Studies students. He urged students to make very good use of the books especially when writing their final year thesis.
Dr. Bob Miller, the Head of Department (HOD) History and Political Studies in a speech showed much gratitude to the POSSA executive members for coming up with this great idea of donating books for the betterment of the department. He revealed that money spent on books to acquire knowledge is profitable than any other thing because that will propel one to the next phase of life. Prof. Miller entreated the executive members to continue thinking about how to broaden their knowledge, and not to only organize socializing programmes, particularly dinner among other curricular activities.
Mr. Michael Sakyi Boateng, the CoHSS Librarian received the items on behalf of the Department. He revealed that since he became the Librarian, the POSSA donation is the first of its kind to the library and stated that the books donated are not only going to benefit the students reading Political Studies but also students of Sociology and History.
