2018 – 2019 Presbyterian Women’s College of Education Admission Requirements

  1. WASSCE /SSCE Qualification Applicants

The general requirement for admission to Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) programme is as follows:

  1. WASSCE Holders: Passes (A1-D7) in Six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics, with a minimum of C6 in any three (3) of the six subjects relevant to the programme of choice.
  1. SSSCE Holders: PASSES (A-D) in Six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three (3) of the six subjects must be relevant to the progrmme of choice.
  1. Candidates awaiting the MAY/JUNE, 2016 WASSCE RESULTS may also apply.
The specific requirements for admission to the various OPTIONS on offer within the DBE PROGRAMME are as detailed below:

GENERAL Passes in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three(3) out of the six (6) subjects must be a minimum of C6, and relevant to the General Option. Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three(3) of the six (6) subjects must be relevant to the General Option.
SCIENCE& MATHEMATICS Passes in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three(3) out of the six (6) subjects must be a minimum of C6, and relevant to the Science & Mathematics Option. Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three(3) of the six (6) subjects must be relevant to the Science & Mathematics Option.
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION Passes in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three(3) out of the six (6) subjects must be a minimum of C6, and relevant to the Early Childhood Option. Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three(3) of the six (6) subjects must be relevant to the Early Childhood Option.
FRENCH Passes in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three(3) out of the six (6) subjects including FRENCH must be a minimum of C6. Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three (3) of the six (6) subjects must include FRENCH.
TECHNICAL Passes in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three(3) out of the six (6) subjects must be a minimum of C6, and relevant to either Technical/Science or Technical/Mathematics Option. Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three(3) of the six (6) subjects must be relevant to either Technical/Science or Technical/Mathematics Options.

Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three (3) of the six (6) subjects must be relevant to the Option selected.
HEARING IMPAIRED Passes in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three (3) out of the six (6) subjects must be a minimum of C6, and relevant to the Option selected. Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects including English language and Core Mathematics. Three (3) of the six (6) subjects must be relevant to the Option selected.

ONLINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE:Applicants will first make a payment of One Hundred And Thirty Ghana Cedis (GH¢130.00) into the Colleges of Education – Ghana Account at any branch of the following banks nationwide:

    1. i) GCB Bank Ltd
    1. ii) uniBank Ghana Ltd

iii) Aditionally, payment can also be made through mobile money walletTigo CashAirtel Money, or MTN Mobile Money by dialing short code *924*8# from all networks

Upon payment Application will be given the following information:

    1. a) A personal identification number (PIN)
    1. b) Admission Application Serial Number
  1. c) The Admission Website Address.coeportal.edu.gh
With this PIN, applicant will then visit THE ADMISSSION WEBSITEadmission.coeportal.edu.gh and follow specific guidelines to fill the application form ONLINE.

NOTE:
i) Applicants are advised to read and to ensure they fully understand all related instructions before completing application form.
ii) Applicants are to note that application forms that are not properly completed will not be processed.
iii) After completing the application form online, an applicant will nee to print a copy which should be sent with one passport photograph and a copy/copies of results slips (Where available) by EMS PRIORITY ENVELOPE obtainable from Ghana Post nationwide to the Principal of the COLLEGE CHOSEN.
iv) Applicants will be notified to the receipt of their applications by SMS and should therefore provide correct and reliable mobile phone numbers when completing the form online.
v) For the admission offers, applicant will also recive notification by SMS and those who do not receive any of such notifications may have to understand it to mean that their applications have not been successful.
vi) All are to note that the colleges will cross-check the results of applicants for the West African Examination Council as part of the admission process.
vii) For further enquiries, applicants are to contact the nearest colleges of Educations or The Colleges of Education Secretariat at GNAT headquarters, Accra.
