UEW ITECPD Programmes Admission For 2021/2022 Academic Year

UEW ITECPD Programmes Admission – The University Of Education Winneba has opened the 2021/2022 Admission into the Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD) Programmes.

The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development University of Education, Winneba wishes to inform the public that application forms for admission into the 4-Semester Bachelor of Education in Early Grade/ Upper Primary/ JHS (Sandwich) for the 2020/2021 academic year are on sale and will continue until 1st June, 2020. The commencement date for the first semester 2020/2021 programme is 1st August to 5th September, 2020.

UEW ITECPD Programmes Admission Entry Requirement

Candidates holding a Diploma awarded by Colleges of Education affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba or University of Cape Coast, and must have fulfilled the programme specific requirements below:

Bachelor of Education, Early Grade and Upper Primary

  1. This is a Two- Year Post-Diploma programme.

Candidates must have a Diploma in Basic Education from either the Colleges of Education affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba or University of Cape Coast

In addition, the candidate must have obtained Credits in three (3) Core Subjects (SSSCE A-D, WASSCE A1-C6) and credits in any other two (2) Elective Subjects.

Bachelor of Education, JHS

This is a Two- Year Post-Diploma programme for Diploma in Basic Education holders obtained from either the Colleges of Education affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba or University of Cape Coast. In addition, the candidate must have obtained Credits in three (3) Core Subjects (SSSCE A-D, WASSCE A1-C6) and credits in any relevant two (2) Elective Subjects.

      All applicants should select an elective subject that conforms to what they studied at the Diploma in Basic Education level.

  1. Bachelor of Education (Science)

            Candidates seeking admission into the above programme must have:

            Diploma in Basic Education (Science and Mathematics option) with credits SSSCE A-D or WASSCE A1-C6 in any two of the following: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Elective Mathematics.

  1. Bachelor of Education (Mathematics)

            Candidates seeking admission into the above programme must have:

            Diploma in Basic Education (Science and Mathematics option) with credit in elective Mathematics with, Chemistry or Physics in SSSCE A-D or WASSCE A1-C6

  1. Bachelor of Education in (Arts)

Candidates seeking for admission into the above programme must have Diploma in Basic Education with Credit in any two of the following elective subjects in SSSCE A-D or WASSCE A1-C6: History, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies, French, Literature in English, Ghanaian Language (Ewe, Fante, Dagbani, Ga, and Twi)

  1. Bachelor of Education (Social Science)

Candidates seeking admission into the above programme must have Diploma in Basic Education with credit in any two of the following elective subjects in SSSCE A-D or WASSCE A1-C6: Economics, Geography, Government and Elective Maths

  1. Bachelor of Education (Social Studies)

Candidates seeking admission into the above programme must have Diploma in Basic Education with credit SSSCE A-D or WASSCE A1-C6 in Geography or History and any one of the following subjects in Economics, Government and RME.

  1. Bachelor of Education (TVET)

Candidates seeking admission into the above programme must have Diploma in Basic Education with credit SSSCE A-D or WASSCE A1-C6in any two of the following subjects: Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Textiles, Management in Living or General Knowledge in Art, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Elective Maths, or any relevant Visual Art or Technical subjects such as Auto Mechanics, Building Construction, Graphic Design, Sculpture, Leather Work, Picture Making, Woodwork or Metalwork.

  1. Bachelor of Education (Information Communication Technology)

Candidates seeking admission into the above programme must have Diploma in Basic Education with credit SSSCE A-D or WASSCE A1-C6 in any two of the following subjects: Economics, Business Management, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Elective Mathematics.

  • Application level: select undergraduate (Bachelor)
  • Application type: select Institute for Teacher Education Post-Dip, Sandwich (Degree)

All applicants are required to provide the following information at the back of the large EMS envelope: (a) application reference number (b) full name (c) postal address (d) first choice programme and (e) application category which should be addressed to: INSTITUTE FOR TEACHER EDUCATION AND CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (ITECPD) POST-DIPLOMA-SANDWICH (DEGREE) programme.

Applicants are advised to read application instructions as well as the contents of the admission brochure very carefully before completing the online application form.

Applications on which APPLICATION REFERENCE NUMBERS are not indicated will not be processed.
