Welcome to the School of Natural Resources
The School of Natural Resources is one of the six (6) schools in the University of Energy and Natural Resources. The mandate of the school among others is to train, conduct research and disseminate knowledge in the area of natural resources management. It trains students to attain knowledge, skills and intellectual independence to contribute their quota towards national development. The school is one of the foundation schools and its vision is to become a centre of excellence in the training of critical human resource for the efficient utilization of our natural resources.
It is dedicated to producing highly skilledgraduates’whiles generating, advancing and applying science-based information for the sustainable management and utilization of our natural and environmental resources.
The School with the help of its Research Centre for Climatic Change and Gender Studies (3CGCS) also focuses on climatic change and its impact on our natural resources. Other areas of research include:
Aqua-culture systems.
Environmental degradation.
Preservation and development of heritage site.
Forest conservation.
Forest fires.
Mining activities.
Wildlife endangered species.
Ecotourism and hospitality.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
SSSCE Applicants
Applicantsmust have passes (A-D) in three (3)subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies. The applicant must in addition possess passes in three (3) elective e subjects relevant to the choice of programme. These shall include Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Geography and Management and Living.
WASSCE Applicants
Applicantsmusthave (A1-C6) in three (3) core subjects comprising English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies and three (3) elective subjects relevant to the choice of programme. These comprise Biology/General Agriculture/Forestry, Geography, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Management in Living.
Applicants with Foreign Certificates
Required subjects for Sciences: English, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Biology/Agriculture, Physics and Chemistry plus a pass in one Arts subject.
Other Qualifications:Other qualifications acceptable for consideration for admission include International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, GCSE, American Grade 13examinations and other external qualifications which have equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE and the GCE (A Levels).
Foreign certificates shall be evaluated by the applicant at the National Accreditation Board and attach the evaluation report to the application.
Mature Students’ Entry
Applicants must:
be at least 25 years old by 1st September of the academic year one wants to enrol;
show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth date which is at least 5 years old at the time of application;
provide introductory letter from employer or show any other proof of employment;
pass Mature Students’ Entrance Examinations conducted by UENR (English Language, Mathematics and an Aptitude Test). In lieu of such examinations, the applicant should show proof of credit passes in English and Mathematics in SSSCE/WASSCE or any other
