University Of Health And Allied Science Registrar’s Office

The Office of the Registrar is the centre of the administrative set up in the University over seen by the Registrar. As a mandate, the Registrar is the Chief Operatng Officer (COO) and in that capacity is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the University under the Vice­Chancellor and in accordance with the policy directives of the Council. The Registrar is the Secretary to the governing Council of the University.
The Registry accomplishes task through collaborating with other offices of the University Central Administration. The Directorates of Works and Physical Development, Information and Communication Technology provide specific outlets for operationalizing the specific mandates of the Office.
The Registry is ably supported by a team of administrators and professionals in various capacities who operate in five units; Academic Affairs Unit, Students Affairs Unit, Public Affairs Unit, General Administration and, Human Resource Unit. With time and as the University expands its activities, these Units will become Directorates to facilite their core activities centrally. There are also various categories of administrative assistants and other staff in key and specialized areas who perform senior administrative roles in the Academic and Administrative Units on behalf of the Registrar.
During the period under review, the Registrar’s Office saw the establishment of a vibrant Academic Affairs Unit and the acquisition and institution of the Student Online Information System-(SOIS) to facilitate and make the Academic Unit to function effectively. The system made it possible to build a solid database on students and keep track of all students’ records and activities to ensure the generation of accurate report from the onset of enrollment to graduation and certification. The system is also critical in the generation of institutional data and statistics that will inform policy decisions in the University.
The Office of the Registrar according to its mandate, continued to deliver accurate , prompt and courteous and consistent services to all the constitutents consistent with its educational mission; provide efficient leadership role in the accurate and efficient management of data in all functional areas of management; provide admission and examinations services to students; serve as the official custodian of University records, interpret and apply academic policies; initiate policies, rules and regulations for approval and adoption; co-ordinate orientation programs for staff and students and; serve as a resource person for workshops organized by the University.
Services in the Office of the Registrar are provided with open, collaborative and accurate communication, respect for all, innovative improvements in efficiency and effectiveness and an active commitment to an environment of collegiality and professionalism. The Office of the Registrar subscribes to the highest ethical principles of maintaining accuracy, intergrity, and security of all academic records, and ensures full compliance with all University regulations.
