CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES

Direct Entry Requirement (SSSCE/WASSCE/GCE “O” Level & “A” Level Candidates, other post secondary certificates)

Candidates must have PASSES instead of CREDITS in THREE [3] SSSCE/WASSCE Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science in addition to PASSES in any THREE [3] relevant elective subjects in the options under 1.1 to 1.5 of either Environmental Science and Management or the BSc Sustainable Agriculture Programme above.

Duration: One Year consisting of two (2) semesters.

B.Sc. ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND MANAGEMENT  

Direct Entry Requirement (SSSCE/WASSCE/GCE “O” Level & “A” Level Candidates)

Candidates must have CREDITS in THREE [3] SSSCE/WASSCE Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science in addition to CREDITS in any THREE [3] relevant elective subjects in the following options;

  • General Science Option: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics
  • Agricultural Science Option: General Agriculture, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Animal Husbandry, Crop Husbandry, Horticulture, Economics and Extension
  • General Arts Option: Economics, Geography, Government, Elective Mathematics, General Knowledge in Arts
  • Home Economics Option: Biology or Chemistry, General Knowledge in Art, Management in Living, Food and Nutrition, Economics
  • Business Option: Business Management, Business Mathematics and Costing, Accounting, Economics, Elective Mathematics
  • Candidates must have FIVE credits at GCE O level or equivalent including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, General Science, Geography, Economics, Government. In addition, passes in THREE [3] GCE Advanced Level subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Government, Economics and Geography.

BSc. SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE

Direct Entry Requirement (SSSCE/WASSCE/GCE “O” Level & “A” Level Candidates)

Candidates must have CREDITS in THREE [3] SSSCE/WASSCE Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science in addition to CREDITS in any THREE [3] relevant elective subjects in the following options in addition, CREDITS in THREE [3] SSSCE/WASSCE elective subjects in any   THREE (3) of the following options;

  • General Science Option: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Elective Mathematics and Geography.
  • Agricultural Science OptionGeneral Agriculture, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Animal Husbandry, Crop Husbandry, Horticulture, Economics and Extension.
  • General Arts Option: Economics, Geography, Government, Elective Mathematics.
  • Home Economics Option: Biology and/or Chemistry, Management in Living, Food and Nutrition, Economics.
  • Candidates must have FIVE credits at GCE O level or equivalent including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, General Science, Geography, Economics, Government. In addition, passes in THREE [3] GCE Advanced Level subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Agricultural Science, Government, Economics and Geography.

MATURE CANDIDATES FOR:

    1. ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & MANAGENMENT &
    2. BSc SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE PROGRAMMESMature candidates usually require relevant work experience and will be required to undertake a 6-week Entrance Access course followed by examinations in the following subjects;
    • General Mathematics
    • English Language
    • Aptitude Test
    • General Science  Holders of certificates, diploma, & higher national diplomas (HND)
    • Certificate Holders in the relevant programmesCandidates with certificates in the relevant areas will be admitted into Level 200 after they pass an entrance examination in General Mathematics, English Language, Aptitude test, and General Science
    • Diploma and HND Holders in the relevant ProgrammesCandidates with diplomas in the relevant areas will be admitted into Level 300 after they pass an interview scheduled for that purpose.
