When is the online registration for Matric Rewrite May/June 2024 starting? Candidates who registered to write the 2023 October/November matrics supplementary examinations but either missed, failed a subject, or wanted to improve their marks have another chance to improve their results. According to the Department of Basic Education (DBE), National Senior Certificate (NSC) candidates can now sign up to write in May and June 2024. 

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has announced that online registration for the 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) May/June examinations will open on October 2, 2023, and close on February 9, 2024.

The closing date for registration for both online and manual registration is February 9, 2024.

What are the requirements for a matrix rewrite?

In order to apply for a matrix rewrite, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be 21 when writing your exams.
  • You must be able to read and write in EITHER English or Afrikaans.
  • You must have completed your matric exams already.

Online Registration for Matric Rewrite For May/June

The Matric Rewrite exams will be given in May and June in South Africa, and they will be administered by the Department of Basic Education (DBE). Depending on the province or district where the student is located, the registration procedure may change.

Here are the general steps for registering online for the Matric Rewrite exams:

  7. Pay the registration fees: You may be required to pay the registration fees for the Matric Rewrite exams using the payment methods specified on the registration portal.

Can I rewrite my matric after 10 years?

You can apply to rewrite your matric year again, though you would have to wait slightly longer to achieve your academic goals. There are also adult Matric and Matric Upgrade option for people who do not succeed in the second chance exams.

Is it too late to register for matric rewrite?

Older than 21? It’s not too late. You can never be too old to get your matric certificate, and you can get it in the comfort of your home through distance learning. Adults who qualify to write the Amended National Senior Certificate exams can apply from October until January.

How much does it cost to rewrite matric?

A Matric Rewrite gives you the chance to rewrite your matric exams. This could be because you did not do well enough to pass, or you just want to improve your marks to get into the course of your choosing.
