GIJ management releases official fees for 2018/2019 academic year

Parents and Guardians with their wards at the Ghana Institute of Journalism can finally heave a sigh of relief following an official publication from the school’s authorities rescinding its decision to increase tuition fees for the 2018/2019 academic year until given the green light by parliament.
Earlier last month, students of the nation’s premier communication school expressed their anger over management’s attempt to upwardly adjust fees for the next academic year which commences in September.

The school’s management, in June, proposed a 15-20% increase in academic fees.
However, a statement from the Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and copied to the Ministry of Finance and all other relevant stakeholders directed all councils of tertiary institutions not to increase their fees and charges until their requests are processed and approved by Parliament.

Speaking to the General Secretary of student’s front of the communication specialized school, Lady Jessica Naa Adoley Moffatt confirmed the news of the the maintenance of the fees.
