A reputable bank seeks a suitable candidate to fill the role of General Counsel to head the Legal Department.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Advise Executive Management and Board on all legal matters involving the company
• Prepare and file writs, pleadings, submissions, statements of cases, witness statements and othr court processes for and against the company
• Represent the company in court and othr fora such as Labour Commission, CHRAJ among others as and when needed
• Draft and review legal correspondences, contracts and agreements for and on behalf of the company and ensure compliance with legal obligations
• Assist in the formulation, implementation and amendment of the company’s internal policies

Qualification Required & Experience

• Bachelor of Law & Barrister-at-Law (LLB, BL)
• Must be on the roll of lawyers and in good standing at the Bar
• High moral character with proven integrity
• Must be proficient in ICT
• A minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience with 5 years of administrative experience in a managerial position
• Knowledge in banking will be an added advantage
