Boston South Africa Admission Point Score For 2022/2023
To calculate your Boston APS, you will need to add your six best subject percentages. Please note that this excludes Life Orientation.
Applicants will need to meet the minimum APS in order to be considered for a specific programme. Generally, you get points for each matric subject you write an exam in. The points you get for each course will depend on the percentage you score in that particular subject.
The APS is the total points you receive from each course. Results below 40% for any subject will not be counted in the APS.
Can I go to Boston College without matric?NB: Having a Matric certificate does not guarantee you a chance to study at Boston City Campus and Business College. You have to apply for admission like any other learner.
BOSTON CITY CAMPUS MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION REGULATION 24h
A minimum requirement for admission into the degree is a:
• National Senior Certificate (NSC), with English as one of the subjects passed and with an endorsement for admission to Bachelor’s degree study; or
• National Certificate (Vocational) (NC(V)), with English as one of the subjects passed and with an endorsement for admission to Bachelor’s degree study; or
• Prior to 2009, Senior Certificate* with English as one of the subjects passed.
* Senior Certificate with a minimum of 40% in at least four higher grade subjects or 50% in at least four standard grade subjects.
ALTERNATIVE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A number of higher education qualifications may meet the requirements for admission into the degree:
• Higher Certificate, NQF (HEQSF) Level 5, minimum Credits 120;
or
• Advanced Certificate, NQF (HEQSF) Level 6, minimum Credits 120;
or
• Diploma, NQF (HEQSF) Level 6, minimum Credits 240 or 360; or
• Equivalent qualification from a foreign higher education institution – see the section on Foreign Applicants.
