Lewanika Schools of Nursing and Midwifery is a Government owned medical and nursing School in the Western Province in Zambia . The University is also affiliated to the Health Professional Council of Zambia (HPCZ), and the General Nursing of Zambia (GNCZ)

What are the requirements for Lewanika Schools of Nursing and Midwifery courses?

The requirement needed to be enrolled in this programme is five credits, including English and mathematics. The enrolment is one hundred students every year.

Lewanika Schools of Nursing and Midwifery Application Fees


The application fee for Lewanika Schools of Nursing and Midwifery is K150 (One Hundred and Fifty Kwacha) only. This fee is non-refundable.

The application fee can be paid at any Zanaco branch in Zambia. To pay the fee, simply present the teller with your application form and they will be able to process the payment for you.

Once you have paid the application fee, you will be given a receipt. You must keep this receipt and attach it to your application form when submitting it.

How do I Apply For Lewanika Schools of Nursing and Midwifery Intakes ?


To apply for Lewanika Schools of Nursing and Midwifery intakes, you must:

  1. Meet the entry requirements. The entry requirements for Lewanika Schools of Nursing and Midwifery are:
    • A full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or equivalent with at least five (5) credits, including English Language, Mathematics, and at least a Merit in Science.
    • Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 25 years old.
    • Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to undergo nursing or midwifery training.
  2. Obtain an application form. Application forms for Lewanika Schools of Nursing and Midwifery can be obtained from the school’s administration office or downloaded from the school’s website.
  3. Complete the application form. The application form must be completed in full and submitted with the required supporting documents.
  4. Pay the application fee. The application fee for Lewanika Schools of Nursing and Midwifery is K150. The application fee can be paid at any Zanaco branch in Zambia.
  5. Submit the supporting documents. The following supporting documents must be submitted with the application form:
    • Original and two (2) photocopies of the National Registration Card (NRC).
    • Original and two (2) photo copies of grade twelve (12) certificate(s) or statement(s) of results.
    • Two recent passport-size photographs.
    • A copy of the application fee receipt.
    • A medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
    • A police clearance certificate.
    • A letter of recommendation from a school principal or teacher.
  6. Attend an interview. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview at the school. The interview will be conducted by a panel of school staff and will assess the applicant’s suitability for the nursing or midwifery profession.
